Germany completed the warm-up action ahead of Euro 2020 next week in style after beating Latvia 7-1 in a friendly match in Dusseldorf earlier this morning.
After being tied 1-1 by Denmark last week, Germany lived up to predictions to secure a big win over Latvia.
A brilliant finish in two minutes, contributed by Robin Gosens (19th minute) and Ilkay Gundogan (21) respectively, put the hosts comfortably in control of the match before Thomas Muller made it 3-0 by the first half hour.
Latvia goalkeeper Robert Ozols then scored into his own net following an effort by Kai Haverts in the 39th minute before Serge Gnabry closed out the first half with Germany’s fifth goal.
Chelsea striker Timo Werner also registered as a scorer in the first five minutes of the second half and Leroy Sane’s goal closed the glorious night for Joachim Low’s side after Aleksejs Saveljevs scored a consolation goal for Latvia.
Germany will start their Euro 2020 campaign against France in Munich early next Wednesday morning.
