REGGIO EMILIA, Italy: Andrea Pirlo won her first trophy as operator after Juventus beat Napoli 2-0 in the Italian Super Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 64th minute of action at Reggio Emilia, before Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne failed to complete a penalty and Alvaro Morata ensured victory in injury time.

Juventus won the annual trophy, which was contested by defending champions Serie A and the Italian Cup, for the ninth time, after losing to Lazio last year.

Pirlo won his first trophy five months after being the operator at the old club.

It was the first meeting between Pirlo and Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso, his teammate when Italy won the 2006 World Cup and a decade at AC Milan – where they collected two Serie A titles and two Champions League trophies.
