LONDON: West Ham boosted their chances of qualifying for the Champions League with a comfortable 3-0 win over the lower league team, Sheffield United just now.
David Moyes’ side created their sixth win in eight Premier League games when they outscored the bottom team, Blades, at the London Stadium.
Michail Antonio’s injury means West Ham need to start without a striker.
But Manchester United borrowed striker Jesse Lingard posed a threat on the offensive side as goals from Declan Rice, Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks led the Hammers to fourth place.
“It’s a great thing because at this point last year, it was like how could we avoid removal?” said Moyes.
“I do not want to say no, we can not finish fourth place but I do not want to say we can and calm down. I am ambitious.
“I don’t think we will be eliminated with the total number of points, but I will definitely not make a stupid statement saying something I can not achieve.”
